In 1973, inmates of Cowansville penitentiary were met by the founder of the service, Mr. Normand Guay. The service was therefore created in December 1973.
The Center aims to increase and develop the employability of clients in order to facilitate their integration or reintegration into the labor market. It offers a professional service made up of competent staff for judicialized adults. The key element of the service is defined mainly by the availability of its stakeholders to assist and support the client in their process of integration into employment. Finally, the expertise developed over nearly 30 years makes Opex the privileged link for consultation between judicial bodies and the world of work and training.
