Founded in 1977, the Unité Domrémy de Baie-Comeau is a friendly environment offering support and accompaniment to anyone whose objective is to improve their quality of life.

Monitoring in the community

Clientele

As the Unité Domrémy is first and foremost a community hall, it is open to everyone.
Psychosocial and drug addiction follow-ups are mostly aimed at people with addiction problems, often concomitant with mental health problems and financial insecurity.
Social reintegration follow-ups are aimed at a judicialized population, referred by Public Security.

Volunteering and a desire to improve one's quality of life.

Psychosocial services
Psychosocial services are offered free of charge and aim to restore physical, psychological and social moderation by offering the possibility of achieving healthy management of daily practices, in the face of a problem of dependence and/or by reducing the harms associated with it. In addition, our establishment facilitates the development of support groups (A.A., N.A.) by providing them with premises that promote their own identity.

Monitoring in the community
In addition, the organization works with the Ministère de la sécurité publique du Québec to provide monitoring in the community for people who have been put to justice in order to support them in their social reintegration. This collaboration also makes it possible to offer the Programme Stratégie en Détention, which aims to equip participants to develop their social skills through group intervention. The work of soul-searching allows them to think about the possibilities for the future, with the goal of adopting a prosocial lifestyle and understanding why certain choices have led them to incarceration.
