Colloque de la réhabilitation sociale

The Colloque 2000 was a key annual gathering for nearly twenty years for community-based professionals working in the field of crime prevention.

Numerous topics were addressed through a wide range of workshops and training sessions.

In 2024, the ASRSQ chose to rename this emblematic symposium and fully took on its organization following the 2022 edition, which marked a renewal of this major event in the community correctional sector.

The latest edition aimed both to maintain continuity with past events and to mark a fresh start. The chosen theme, “Drawing Inspiration from Community Roots to Adapt Our Practices to New Challenges,” invited us to work together toward crime prevention. By “community roots” we refer to social involvement, humanistic values that believe in personal change and growth, and the responsive, creative spirit that has always defined this field.

The changes and new challenges we face come in many forms: labor shortages, staff retention issues, weakened community engagement, lack of funding, increasingly complex client needs, emerging forms of crime, and more. This edition aimed to highlight initiatives and practices that respond to these evolving challenges.

The next Colloque de la réhabilitation sociale will take place at the Delta Hotel Mont Sainte-Anne (Beaupré) from May 20 to 22, 2026!
