Résidence Carpe Diem Inc.

The Résidence Carpe Diem Inc. is a non-profit corporation in operation since July 1991, with the Carpe Diem community-based residential centre.

At first, partnering with Correctional Service Canada, the Résidence Carpe Diem Inc. was established in Laval with the strong desire to help parolees weather the challenges of social reintegration.

In 2006, along with the Correctional Services of Quebec, Carpe Diem was implementing the Community monitoring program to service a mixed clientele of individuals in conflict with the law in the greater Laval region.

In August 2011, Carpe Diem acquired a second building on the same street, which became the Multi-services centre. The administration department of the corporation was moved there, along with the Community monitoring program.

Finally, May 2016 marks the opening of the Multi-services centre lodging service, originating from a new partnership with Correctional Service Canada and the Correctional Services of Quebec. The Résidence Carpe Diem Inc. now includes two halfway houses, the Carpe Diem CRC and the Carpe Diem Multi-services centre, and its Community monitoring program.

Program

The Résidence Carpe Diem is based on the systemic approach on which our HAVI social reintegration program is built. This program facilitates the balance between the different parts of life and acts, through themes, as a training vehicle to acquire life skills and abilities. Services delivery is determined according to the resident’s needs, risk assessment and the necessary clinical investment.
